When property developer BridgeLane secured this heritage site on Hutchison St in Surry Hills, they knew needed a special campaign to compete in this fashion-forward locale.
in 2017 as creative director of Toast, I created the brand name, then worked closely with DESIGNER Ramiro Rey to develop a concept that captured the cultural heritage of the area.
The resulting brand and launch went on to achieve REA's campaign of the year for 2018.
The site was on the corner of Hutchinson Street and Hutchison Lane. Situated in a suburb known for it's edgy attitude, the name "Hutch & Hutch" fit the bill.
Research showed the site was the home to Australia's first record press, opening an opportunity for a cultured brand voice with jazz notes.
Toast's local area photography was integrated into the architectural renders for complete brand synergy.
Various branding and sales assets were produced including microsite, print advertising and bespoke place-making signage.
